Thank you! And I would agree. I like your explanation that an employer buys a portion of your time — time in which you give a great deal of energy and effort! The rest of your time ought to be free to invest in other pursuits; no employer should have full control of your interests or all they’ll get is burned out workers. It’s a matter of mental health as much as it is of company culture.
