Fall means brown and orange leaves and Halloween decorations. Fall means my usual baking (of already manic volume) about triples and we swap salads for soups.

It also means I’m in need of yet another book to join me on the couch, hot cocoa and cozy slipper socks and all (for me, not the book). This being Fall, though, means that said book had better be just a little spooky.

There are, of course, the obvious classics. Frankenstein and Dracula are personal and much beloved favorites, as are a few of Stephen King’s repertoire (not all — I’m picky like that), but there are more than a few overlooked treasures I’ve encountered on a chilly Autumn night or two. Grab your oversized hoodies and double check the deadbolt on your front door, kids. Something wicked this way comes…
